Vintage RAK - Sorry so late!

Hi Everyone:
I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to get the pic up of this RAK. We had a birthday in the family on May 24th and we were away for the long weekend here in Canada. I think that I will extend the Vintage Card Challenge until June 5th, midnight, atlantic time. I will pick a winner on June 6th, Sunday and announce it that afternoon.

I hope that the items that I have here are what you consider Vintage. I do have some maps and some other Vintage Story pages as well. They are not in the picture. Sorry! I searched high and low for them and couldn't find them anywhere. I told my husband and he said that maybe they were in the recycling bin. Sure enough! Lol! That is where they were! Lol! Yes, I am losing my mind. It brought a good chuckle here this afternoon anyway. The kids thought it was so funny! Lol! So here it is and hope you like the selection. Some papers are from this winter past, some are older, there is bling, ribbon, hand-made flowers, Prima Flowers, Vintage Labels, Vintage Story Pages, and even some Pearl pins. They were not added to the picture either. Sorry! Maybe I will add the other things and take another picture. Tomorrow will be a busy day for me but I will try to post another picture with all supplies.

A view of the hand-made flowers using Fabric Softner sheets and the Vintage Tags.
Please leave a comment with a link to your Vintage Card and you will be given two chances to win. Becoming a follower of my blog will give you another entry. If you share about this Rak with others you will have another chance to win. I look forward to seeing your amazing creations. Until then, have fun creating and God Bless.

Hugs

Card Patterns - Sketch #64

I have never taken the time to enter any of the card contest at Card Patterns, but after meeting some of the gals over at the Flickr' Group I thought I would give it ago. Tracy, a fellow Canadian, who is on their sketch team has given me so much inspiration with her amazing creations. With all of the talent that they provide, along with their great giveaways, your sure to always have fun and be inspired by others who submit. Check out their site each week to see the new sketch and prize give away. You won't be sorry that you did! Lol! Without further ado, here is this weeks sketch!

I decided to turn the sketch sideways and to not add the bow! I wanted to also use a different shape for my sentiment. I had so much fun with this sketch. This card is my very first Vintage Card! Horray for me! I have many friends who make Vintatage Style Cards and they do such a beautiful job, but for me I always find it difficult to know where to start or what to add. This time I decided to make my own flowers. Thanks to Maria and Dawn who gave two amazing tutorials on how to make them. I have never made flowers before and now that I have I am more than sure that I will make lots more. They are soooo easy and they turn out so great. Be sure to check the above links so that you can make your own embellishments too.

So here is the card that I made using the above sketch. There is also a sideview to show the texture that is produced when making these beautiful flowers.

Supplies Used For This Card Are:

Pp: Wild Saffron/K&Company, Old World/DCWV, Background Paper/Unknown

CdStk & Sentiment/Stampin Up, Pearls/Dollarama Crafts

Crocheted Lace/Unknown, Green Ribbon/Walmart

Distress Inks/TimHoltz-Ranger, Adhesives/Ez Runner By 3L

I know that it can be somewhat intimadiating to try something new and the same can be said for trying different techiniques or styles. I am very happy with how this turned out and proud of myself for trying and not giving up. So I encourage you to give something different a try. Step outside of your comfort zone. You will be surprised to find yourself liking something that you never thought you would! I know I did! Lol!

For a chance to win some items to use on your Vintage Cards, leave a comment with a link to your creation to have your name entered for a random draw. I will choose a winner by next Saturday, May 29th and post here to this blog on Sunday afternoon. I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I will post a picture sometime tomorrow to show the RAK that I have to share.

That is it for tonight! Trust you are all doing well and having a great long weekend. Have fun and be safe! Remember safety is the best policy!!

Hugs & Blessings

Thank You Deedee!

Well I have been without the Internet for awhile! Yes, I am okay! I did just fine without it actually! Lol! It was so great to check my emails late last night and have Deedee get in touch with me to tell me that I won the $20 gift certificate to her Digi Store. The gals at Sweet & Sassy were so great to do a blog hop in honour of Deedee's new endeavour and it was a lot of fun. I have done a few of these blog hops but have never won anything. I was so shocked to hear that I won and to make things even better, I actually got word from Tricia that she had picked my name at her blog to win another one of Deedee's digital images. Wow! That really made my day. Please go to my sidebar to check out Deedee's Designs because she is one talented gal. She is gifted that is for sure. So please check out her store and I promise you won't be sorry. Thanks so much for choosing me and for making my day!

Also wanted to add that Let's Capture Our Memories is celebrating it's first Birthday! Yeah! So go check out all the sales that are going on over there right now! Some amazing deals. Their adhesives are always on sale and they have the best prices on all their adhesives right now! So check it out! You will be glad that you did!

The sun is shining and the air is warm. Seems like we having been waiting for this for so long. Here's hoping that the sun is shining outside of your window and that the Son is shining in your heart. Have a great day everyone!

Really Excited Again!

I was suppose to share some exciting news last weekend but it has been a very busy week here on the home front. With sickness and school work I didn't get the chance to post. I woke up early one morning with so much pain in my neck and throat that I couldn't even move. The only words to describe it was to say that it felt like the Mumps! How would I know this? I had it when I was in grade three and you don't forget something like that. I am feeling much better now. Still running a low-grade temperature and my neck is still a little stiff. But overall I am feeling much better. So that is why there was a delay in getting back with my happy news.

I had mentioned a while back that one of my cards was featured on the Scrapbook News and Review site, but I just recently found out that an altered project that I submitted will be published in their on-line Magazine on May 23rd. I am so happy about this and just wanted to share.

Thanks for dropping bye. Oh before I sign off, just wanted to let you know that I didn't win the contest over at Whimsie Doodles. It was a random draw, but I did win a gift certificate for their great store. Best wishes to the winning gal and may you have loads of colouring with those great Copic Markers. Lol! Didn't win but it was a load of fun and would do it over again if I had too! Make sure to check out Scrapbook News & Review and the Whimsie Doodles Store bye clicking their links on my sidebar.

Wishing you a great today, so that you can have an even better tomorrow.

Short & Sweet

Hey there! Just wanted to post about a couple of things today that I feel are really fun and important. I love Sweet & Sassy Stamps and also their challenge blog. This week their sketch is amazing and I will be showing a card a little later that uses that same sketch. Here it is:

I also love another great Digi Store and that is Whimsie Doodles. They recently celebrated a birthday and had a blog hop to go along with it. To make the party go out with a bang, they even added a card contest where one lucky gal will win Copic Markers, along with all sorts of digital and rubber stamps. Make sure to check it out here. I just love these images as well and have been making cards for this contest and will upload them later. Just wanted to let you all know about it first and to check it out. The deadline is 12 midnight tonight. Check out their blog for more details.

So there is still plenty of time for you to make a card and enter. Important to know! All card submissions must use a Whimisie Doodle Image. Thank You! These gals have done a lot of great designs and it would only be fair to use their images and to promote their business. So off you go! Check out their store here.

Okay so I am off to finish up some things and I will be back again later. Hope your day is turning into a great one. I have been fighting a cold for the past few days but yesterday it totally wiped me out. I was so blessed today to have my door bell ring and to find some Tim Hortons soup, a muffin and a coffee. (That's the coffee of choice here in Canada!) Somone who is a real sweetie saw fit to bless me today and make me feel loved. Thank you so much. I really needed that to help me get back into my day. Love ya chickie. Is there someone you know who needs a little love? Why not do something special and maybe in secret, so that you brighten someone's day. We all need that from time to time and no better time like the present. Here's praying that your day is bright and your creativity is flowing! Lol
