Where As The Time Gone!

Yes, it seems that summer is whining down!  It isn't actually over until the calendar says September 21st, but when the days start to shorten, and the evening breeze starts to feel a little less warm, then you know autumn is just around the corner.  I am not ready to give into the idea that summer is over yet because our vacation starts next week and we have many things that we want to do before we put away the summer clothes and toys. Lol!

In thinking about school and the idea of getting our kids back on track and following a routine, this is still an exciting time for most kids, even if it is a little nerve wreaking for us parents.  Going back to school and getting in touch with friends that they haven't seen all summer, or reconnecting with teachers that are their favorites,  whatever the case, there is an excitement to new beginnings and unknown challenges.  All school year they can't wait for summer (including the teachers! Lol!) and than near the end of summer they can't wait to get back to school!  Kids are so funny that way!

I did want to share with you a project that I have been working on and I think that you are gonna like it!  I love to make Teacher Gifts and I had so much fun making this one.  I actually got the idea while on one of my treks to Michaels and so glad that I did.  The truth be told,  this is a gift that needed to be given to one of my son's teachers when school let out.  Me being so slow, I didn't get it done in time and I am sooo glad that I didn't because I got to use these amazing Digis from Deedee's Store.  The images used were, School or Bust, School Rules, and Book Worm.   Supplies needed to make a wreath similar to this one, is a sterofoam wreath, three roles of ribbon ( one for loopy bow & two to cover the wreath),  crayons, hot glue gun, glue sticks, buttons, and best of all, colored Digital School Images.  Provided below are pics of  the completed project and the coloured digital images.

Just love all of these characters waving has they pass bye!

This worm really wears glasses but I added Gogglie Eyes! Lol!

And last, this sweet Teddy Bear! ( Sorry for the bad pics!)

This is such a wonderful project and gift.  I am sure that any teacher would love a gift that was made using the ever famous Crayola Crayons! Lol!  You can do this with any digital image you may have and make a different wreath for a different occassion.  It would be great to do a fall wreath this way or even a Christmas one!  The possibilities are endless when you are using Deedee's Digis!

Thanks for dropping bye and I hope that I have inspired you to create something new and interesting with your digital images.  Don't forget about the Blog Candy Giveaway!  Still lots of time to play.

Blessings & Hugs

Here is the Blog Candy! I will give a description tomorrow! It will be up until October 1st and will post winner on October 2nd!

Die Cuts: Ants/Momenta, Punches: Stampin Up' & Cricuit Machine

But you will have to check in to see what all the fun is about.  I want to encourage you to take part in the Cards for Kids and show some kids who are not feeling so good that someone cares.  To check out all the info please see my sidebar.  Trust that you are still enjoying your summer and soaking up the rays before the Autumn weather begins. Lawn Fawn Blog Hop!!

Hi Everyone:
Just wanted to let you know about an exciting event that will be happening on the 18th of this month.  Kelly over at Lawn Fawn will be hosting a Blog Hop in honour of "Cards For Kids" card drive which is organized bye Jennifer McGuire and her team of helpers.  I want to encourage so many has possible to join us on this hop and to show your support.  If you would like to have your blog added to the list please visit Kelly here and let her know you want your name added to join in the fun.  You must share a card that you have made for the Card Drive.  No, you don't have to use Lawn Fawn stamps, though it would be nice, but you can use whatever product you like as long as it is for Cards For Kids

To find out more about the kids that are being blessed with all of these cards and some with small gifts please check out all of the information at Jennifer McGuire's blog here.  So check it out and tell Kelly that Dana sent you! Lol!

Celebrating a birthday is always fun!  Especially when all of the presents arrive, but for those kids and young teens who have to celebrate a birthday while being sick and in the hospital, it must be difficult.  So to brighten someones day everyday, is an amazing thing to do, but when it is a birthday we feel the need to make it even more special. So I thought that I would make another card like this one for a sweet young girl named, Sami.

Read more about this amazing 18 year old sweetheart  here.

I made this card using patterned cardstock from Martha Stewart Collection, Friends Definition Background Stamp & Digital Butterfly Kit from Hero Arts, cardstock from Recollections & Stampin Up, Tim Holtz' Distress Inks, Bling from the Dollar store,

So if you want a cause to support and need to get rid of some of your cards, why not support Cards For Kids!  I know that the kids will more than love your kindness & thoughtfulness.

Thanks for dropping bye!

Baby Blessings

Can you remember that smell, or the touch of newborn skin. Can you remember those cooing sounds and most of all how it felt to hold an infant in your arms? Well, my child is no longer a baby but a tween and there are days I still long to experience those memories all over again. With being told that I could never have a baby and than God seeing fit to prove the doctors wrong, I have to count my blessings and thank God for His goodness to my husband and I . For giving us that child who is a very important part of our little family. No more babies it seems for me, but sometimes on a mild day, when the air feels damp, I will sometimes find that baby smell arousing my senses and I find praise on my lips. Praise to a God who saw fit to give me the biggest desire of my heart - to be a Mommy!

Maybe you know someone who will be a Mommy soon and would love to make a Baby Shower Card or just a card to welcome the new addition to the family or neighborhood! Well why not check out Deedee's Baby set called "For Baby" here. This set and the sentiment from the Little Miracles set are the digital images that were used to make this very adorable Baby card. I so love babies and baby showers and had so much fun making this card.

Supplies List:
Pattern Paper - Nana's Nursery/DCWV, Purple Gingham/Creative Memories, K & Company, Pebbles Inc, Cardstock - Stampin Up, Recollections, Bling - Dollarama, Digital Images - For Baby/Deedee's Digis, Crayons - Roseart/Crayola, Baby's Oil - Jonhstons', Cutters - CM Ovals, Flowers - Prima

This card was made using a Crayons/Baby's Oil technique. I will be adding this tutorial on my blog in the next few days. So be sure to check back.  It is really cool and I know that some of  you will want to try it too!

I hope that you enjoyed this card and that it has inspired you to make some cute Baby cards of your own. I would say of all the cards I have to give away, I have very few of these kinds. So my goal is to create some more to add to my card box. Looking forward to seeing all that you do with Deedee's Digis. Remember the Vintage challenge over at Deedee's Digis Craft blog. There is still time to play along with this great challenge!  Can't wait to see your take on the Vintage style which seems to be popping up everywhere!

Wishing you well & many happy crafting days!
Hugs & Blessings
