Getting The Feel For CAS Style!

Today I wanted to share this card that I made using only Hero Arts colorbox inks & stamps. Yes, I know this is rare for me. Seeming I love to layer things on a card, both in ink & paper. Lol.  I don't do CAS style cards very well, but I was determined to give it another shot. I made this card with the challenge over at Lily Pad.

I am also submitting this to the  CAS Challenge over at Paper & Such Design Blog. They are also having a sale on right now and I am more than sure that sweet Julie can help you out with all your scrappy needs.

Now this card was made with these stamps from Gina K. Designs and a birthday stamp from Hero Arts.

This card was really simple to make. I used the butterfly from the set above and stamped it first on a piece of scrap paper. I then cut it out and used it as a mask when stamping the butterflies onto my card. With a white cardbase, I stamped the first butterfly in green. Taking the mask that was previously made, the first butterfly was covered and then the second butterfly was stamped in bright pink. With this mask in place, it prevents the pink from spreading on the the green butterfly and giving the effect that the pink butterfly is behind the green one. This step was repeated for the yellow butterfly as well. Voila! A fast CAS style card!

Thanks for dropping bye. I trust your all enjoying your spring and having many days filled with sunshine & happiness.

Easter Blessings - Personal Ponderings Included

With snow falling, roads slippery, and owning a car with all-season tires, the chances of us getting to Sunday Easter service was out! Yes, we didn't get to go and most of the day I was feeling a little out of sorts. Every since Good Friday it felt like Sunday. Did you feel like that too? Kind of funny isn't it! Lol. Two Sundays in one week. I was happy that at least we got to attend the community wide Good Friday service and it was great to see some old & new friends.

Lately I have been dealing with some personal things and just taking it slow with my crafting endeavours. Each day gets better than the day before, but I want to admit that it is due to my faith in Christ and the strength that He provides. There are days when I feel that the gift He gave to me in His death & Resurrection are gifts that I do not deserve. I am sure that for those who believe and even those who don't, that we go around hanging our heads in disappointment because we "blew another day" ! Yes, we had a terrible day and everything we touched seem to bring disappointment and frustration. Ever been there? We may have been cross with our family, made a bad call with regards to a friendship, forgot to call your parents and when you did you were rushed once again!!!! Oh my goodness! The list could go on and on I am sure. It is during these times that I become overwhelmed and the frustration of it comes rushing in and disappointment fills my thoughts and the room. I hang my head again because I have blown another day! Another day to be a better Mom, wife, daughter, and friend. That is why today of all days, I am extremely happy that my Heavenly Father doesn't give up on me when I give up on myself. To know that He excepts me just has I am without questions makes me love Him more. Yes, to some reading this it may sound crazy to love someone you can't see! But though I can't see Him with my eyes, His presence fills the room. A calmness, a peace, which can only come from a heavenly source. And it is here that I long for each day, to make everyday a offering of Praise and Thanksgiving! To know that I can start fresh each day knowing that I have no condemnation from a loving God, but mercy & grace to start over and to be given another chance. So the cross to me looks like a Cross of Chances. A place where God saw fit to make a right relationship with me and gave His only Son so that I might truly live!!! For that I am truly blessed!!!
So today's card is a card with the beautiful Digital Image from Clear Dollar Stamps which I fell in love with at first sight. I used this beautiful Easter Stamp:

This card is being submitted to the following challenges:
Come and Get It Colour Challenge
Addicted To Stamps Challenge: Spring or Easter

Colouring Close-Up

This image was coloured with STAEDTLER Products and will be listed at the end of this post. I will admit that this was the first time that I used my Stampin' Up Paper Piercer & Hole Template and that was something challenging I must say! The flowers on this card was an embellishment that I made using several Prima little flowers to create a larger flower. And I must say it turned out better than I expected. The leaves were stamped using Hero Arts Hydrangea flower stamp. I just love that stamp! I really need to get this leaf stamp set because it would make it so much easier! Lol. Oh well another one to add to my list.

I was trying to sew around the scalloped flower die cuts on this card but that looked horrible. So I had to start over again! I wish I could sew like my Mother-in-law! Now there is a lady who can sew and she is left handed too! Something to be proud of for sure!

I hope to be back again tomorrow with some cards for one maybe two Moxie Fab World challenges with the lovely Cath. I trust that you are having a wonderful long Easter weekend and sharing many wonderful memories with your families & friends.
Until next time.....

Take Care & God Bless

Seeing Things Clearly!!

If your looking for the Lily Pad Blog Hop please check this post!

Isn't this guy super cute and funny! Lol. I saw this on FB and thought it was hilarious! But I do want to admit that I don't agree with cruelty to animals and I don't promote placing prescription filled glasses on a cat or any animal for that case. Just thought it was funny!

This is a card that I recently made for a challenge on You Tube at Bethany's Channel. You should check it out because she really has some great give-aways as well.

Close Up of Colouring & Layering

This is the stamps that I used. A gift from a great friend!

I couldn't get it to link for some reason. Something on my end I am sure. But these are from are from Michael's called  "Animal Clear Stamps".
This was a fun challenge and I am so impressed with the way the STAEDTLER  Triplus Markers worked on this project. Really I am not just saying that because I work for them, but the shading that you see on this project was done with these markers only. No other markers at all!! Just overlapping of colours on top of each other being very careful not to extend each colour to far. Really a great effect. The possibilities are really endless. I so love how this turned out.

This card kind of brings back memories of my kitty that I had when I was 10 who passed away. Haven't had one since and maybe that is the reason. I just want to send a Big Cyber Hug to my great friend Dorcas who just lost her sweet kitty not to long ago.
I am sure it was a terrible day, but just hold on to the good memories sweetie. Thinking of you today. I know some might say "It was just a cat!" Well pish posh I say!  They are family too and we love them so much. Just ask someone who has own one and I am sure that they will tell you the same. I know my cat "Tab" who was named after the soda pop, ( can you remember that! Whew that was years ago! Lol.) he was special to me and some days when I see a black & white cat I still remember him and the love he brought to me. So I guess this card is dedicated to all you cat lovers too!

I hope that I have inspired you today to create with regular markers. You can see how the colours have a bleeding effect on the cat portion. Well that was because regular markers soak into the watercolour paper faster than regular cardstock. It really is a cool effect. Okay I am gonna stop now and get ready for bed.

Take care everyone! I want to extend a Huge Welcome to all of those who are new followers here at Reliving Tomorrow. Thanks so much for being here and I pray that in some way I can inspire, challenge, and bless you. Until next time.

Hugs & Blessings
