Nesters

Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to share this card that I made for my close friend Yulia who is from Russia. It was her birthday yesterday and I knew that she would so love these Nesting Dolls. She had these has a child and is really fond of  them. Her sister came to Canada for Christmas a couple years ago and brought me back a set as well. So when I saw this Stamp set I knew I just had to make a card with them. Thanks Lisa for designing such a beautiful set of digital stamps. Check out Lisa Lara at her blog. You can find it in the Clear Dollar Stamps store.

Clear Dollar Stamps November Release

Welcome to another Clearly Digi Stamps Release Day by Clear Dollar Stamps. This month the digital sets are totally amazing. This release is sure to please and the variety is wonderful. I had a difficult time choosing which sets I wanted to work with. I first decided to work with a set by the ever talented Lisa Lara, called Happy Houses.

Now the possibilities are endless with this digital set. Those houses are the most adorable and can be used for wonderful CAS style cards. Here is my take using this set. I have to say that I love how this card turned out. So bold and bright.

This card is being submitted to the following challenges:
Twisted Tuesday  Stamp on Pattern Paper
Top Tip Tuesday  Include Hearts on Your Project
Forever Friends Anything Goes
Scrapping Everyday Miracles Family Themed + Ribbon
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes

I actually paper pieced this image together. I printed the image on several types of patterned paper and bright coloured cardstock. The windows were left white and coloured in with Tombo markers. The shading on the roof, around the windows, around the grass edge, on the chimney and around the entire scene was with Staedtler Watercolour pencils. The front panel was adhered to a black cardbase. To pull it all together, yellow Baker's Twine was tied around the bottom portion of the card. Using bright and cheerful papers really can make a card pop!!!

The next set that I had the privilege to work with was the Get Well Critter Digital set by the very talented Laurie Wilson. It was difficult to pick just one cute critter. Lol.

These cuties are so great for those cards that you want to add, with a Care Package. They can even be used for tags that can be tied around the handle of a yummy Fruit Basket. I fell in love with that absolutely adorable mouse first when I saw this kit and just knew what I wanted to create. Are you like that? See something right away and know what you are going to make with it!! Well this was one of those times for me. Here is what I came up with.

This card is being submitted to the following challenges:
Can You Digi It : Favorite Animal
Craft Room Challenge  Punches & Die Cuts
  Papertake Weekly Flower Power
Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes

The image was printed on watercolour paper and then coloured with watercolour pencils. Pink areas were coloured with Staedtler Tri-Plus fine tip markers. Yellow note card was die cut using Sizzix Machine and a Spellbinders die. After colouring, the image was adhered to the note card and embellished with pastel coloured pearls. A strip of teal blue paper was cut in banner style and placed down the front of a kraft cardbase. White ribbon was tied around the card before adding note card with mouse. To tie everything together, and to bring a little more attention to the rust colour in the image, a flower of the same colour was added to the card front. To complete the card a sentiment was added to the cardfront. Voila! A cute and whimsical card! Lol.

CiC Challenge # 63 - Little Critters

Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to share this card that I made for CiC Challenge this month at Clear Dollar Stamps.  The challenge was to use little critters of some sort. I am more than sure that we all have cute and cuddly animals stamps. So why not take part in a great & fun challenge.

I decided to use this set from Clear Dollar Stamps called, Autumn Critters.  I decided to combine the pumpkins with the the very cute squirrel.

Autumn Critters Color Digital Image

This is the card that I came up with and combining the different elements really turned out great.  To combine digital elements check out this Clear Dollar Stamp tutorial.

Card is being submitted to the following challenges:
CiC Challenge # 63: Little Critters
Forever Friends :Anything Goes
 Lexi's Creations: Thanks/Thanksgiving
Lollipop Crafts: Thankful/Gratitude
Make My Monday : Autumn + Use your stash.
Paper Playtime: Autumn Colours
Stamp and Create: Use Lace

Close up of Coloring
I really didn't realize how great the amount of orange hues there were in  this colour brown, until I did my photo editing. * Note to self! Don't use color tones that are in the same colour family for animal fur. Lol!!  Shading was created behind the squirrel body and underneath the arms. Also, on its face and tail. Image was colored using Tombo Markers, Staedtler Watercolour Pencils & Crayons. Highlights were added using Tombo White Gel Pen.

Close up of Flower
I started out with just the cream flower but it didn't seem to blend. So I decided to add a green brad, the same colour has the ribbon, to the center. It still didn't seem right! So then I added the orange bling to help bring the eye down to the bottom of the card. It worked this time! Yay!!

This card is made to share with an American friend who will be celebrating Thanksgiving soon. I also, wanted to share pics of a traditional activity that we love to do each Thanksgiving and that is apple picking at one of the local farms.  We so love doing this and the apples were so big this year! See for yourself!!!

Now that is a one big Apple! I finally used up all the apples that we picked this year. A friend of mine gave me an amazing Apple Crisp recipe and I have made it so many times, you would think that my guys would be sick of it. Nope! They want to have it again. It is just so yummy with french vanilla frozen yogurt! I better stop because I am making myself hungry! Lol.

We really had a great day and the weather was beautiful! I am so thankful for these two guys. God really has blessed me with a wonderful hubby and an amazing son. I am so proud to be on this journey with them. Thanks guys for all you do!  Love you so much.

I trust that you are all doing well and that your Autumn has been filled with many great  memories of all the fun that this season can bring. I still have to pick a winner for my blog contest. I will try to get that done in the next few days okay. Until next time, take care of yourselves & each other.

Blessings
Dana
