Little Miracles

Today I wanted to share a card that I made for a good friend of mine. A friend who is going through a difficult time right now. With having health issues and waiting for test results, time can seem like your worst enemy! So with that in mind I felt the need to make a card to cheer her up.

No matter who you are or where you come from, there is always someone you know, or maybe it is you yourself, who is going through a difficult time. Maybe it is health issues, financial difficulty, or just marriage/relationship problems. Whatever the story, many of us are in need of "Miracles". Some are small and some are big, and whatever the size, we all, well for the most part, except them with open arms. For those that don't, or refuse to believe, extended time becomes a friend! Usually it shows were the struggles began and helps to provide an insight has to where they have gone. Knowing this, reveals, that where there seemed no possible way out, is now relief and normalcy! Could it be that a you just witnessed a Miracle in the making! Something to think about for sure!

It is my prayer that for those of you who feel the weight of your situations heavy on your life, that God will provide you with the strength to get through each new day. That with each new day there will be someone who will come along side and help you. Maybe you just need someone to care enough to talk with or better still, to listen! May God bring those people who will bless you and help you into your lives. Keep pressing on! The road ahead will be much brighter! Just look to the Son!

I decided to make this card using 3 different challenges. The first is from Sweet & Sassy! Here is this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch.

The next challenge is at Stampin' Sisters In Christ. Their challenge is to use stripes on your card. And last, is the Happy Monday Challenge at Deedee's Craft Blog where you need to use the colours Turquoise/Blue, Pink, & Green. Please check out all of these amazing challenges for prizes and for inspiration.

Supplies Used:
Digital Image - Little Miracles(Deedee's Digis), PP-Cinderella Collection(Piggy Tales), Chatterbox, Cdstk- Reflections, Inks - Stampin Up, Stickles - Ranger, Tombo - White Gel Pen, Brads - Dollarama, Adhesives - Fiskars, Stampin Up, Lacy Punch - Martha Stewart, Organza Ribbon- Unknown, Digital Sentiment - Deedee's Digis(Little Miracles Set)

Maybe you know someone today who needs cheering-up! Why not send them a card, or give them a call. I think that best thing any of us can do, to even the stranger on the street is SMILE! Maybe that is all it takes, just a smile to show someone you care!

Like Promised!

So I promised that I would show you some of the things that I have been working on using Digital Stamps from Deedees' Digis Store. The ones I decided to use are so cute and I am more than pleased with how these projects turned out.

With school being over for another year, that means report cards, awards, and teacher gifts. I decided to make a great gift called ABC : Teacher Table Trio. Great organizer for any teacher. It can be modified to be use for a Secretary, or Pastor Appreciation gift too.

It was so much fun coloring this gorgous teddy bear. I used mostly Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger to colour my teddy, along with water colour pencils. I love to use my white gel pen to add the highlight in various areas. Next is a close-up of the teddy bear to show the shading using these inks.

Now to show you the inside of this cute organizer. It can be used to hold paperclips, thumbtacks, and staples. Maybe it can house reward stickers and special candy treats. Whatever the item, I am sure it will be something treasured for many years.

One of the images that I picked to use was this one of a sweet teddy fishing and just relaxing. I know so many of us find it so difficult to relax and to just have a time to quiet our hearts. It is times like fishing that are good for the soul. I remember from my childhood days that fishing requires lots of patience and this is something that really makes you relax and enjoy the moment. You can't speed things along and you certainly can't make the fish jump on your hook! Lol! All of these things combined makes for a good day to relax and get away from all the worries of today and just have some much needed fun. You probabley can tell from the post from a couple of days ago that my Dad loves to fish. He is a real busy guy as well and needs to remember to "Live Life" a little fuller and not be so busy during his Retirement Years! Isn't that why they are called Retirement! Lol! Anyway I hope that this card will remind him to do just that. I had a load of fun using these stamps and I am sure that you will too. To view and purchase these Deedee's Digis make sure to click on store button on my sidebar.

And here is a close up shot to show the distress effect that I used to make the sky look like the sun was going down and this teddy was fishing later in the day.

Trust that you are all having a great week. With school out for most, I guess it is time to get ready for summer. Make sure to take lots of pics because remember you can't get yesterday back, but you can learn lots from it and relive it! Have a great weekend!

New Design Team

Yahoo! I am excited to tell you that I have been chosen for the Design Team of Deedee's Digis. This digital stamp company has so much to offer those who are stampers, card makers and those who like to do other kinds of crafts. These images are so versatile that you can make many great creations at a reasonable price. This company also offers Christian/faith-based images and sentiments.

I am so happy about this because I find it so hard to find bible verses or sentiments that help share my faith. You can also find lots of cute and whimsy creations there as well. From leaping frogs, to hugable, squeezable bears and everything in between. You will never be disappointed! I am so happy to be part of such an amazing team who have a love for card making.

Love challenges!?! Well there are many challenges going on over at Deedee's Craft Blog. With each challenge there is always a great prize or freebie. Why not check out her store and all the fun over at Crafter's Digital Art Center. If you love digital stamp images, than this is the place to be. Join Deedee's Digis now and get the freebie image that is now up for grabs. She is so generous with her prizes and very happy to meet new people through her group. Hope to see you there soon!

Keep coming back because tomorrow and the days to follow, there will be information on a special event that will be happening on July 1st. This is our kick off event to introduce Deedee's Digis to the paper crafting world. So be sure to check back and get all the details. Tomorrow I will be sharing some Teacher Gifts using images from Deedee's store and also a card. So make sure to pop back in and see all the fun creations.

Before I go I do want to share a card that I made for my Secret Pal over at LCOM . I couldn't share it before because I didn't want her to see it or find out that I was her Secret Pal. Now that she knows that I had her name for this Fun Program it is safe to show you what I came up with! Lol! I had so much fun being her Secret Pal. She is such a sweetheart and this allowed me to get to know her better. If that is something that you would like to try, why not check it out! Just click on their link on my sidebar to find out all of the info in their forum. So here is the card that I made for her using left over die cuts, rub-ons, and ribbon.

I just love how easy it was to put this together, and the Hero Arts "Friends" stamp is one of my favorites. They have some great deals on now over at 2Peas why not check it out. You won't be sorry! Hero Arts also has monthly contest where the prizes are amazing! I have never won anything, but sure would love too! Lol! Just need to get some more of their great products.
That is it for me! Trusting that you are all doing well and creating some happy memories!

Crate Paper Design Team Call

Okay, so I wanted to apply for this call but was under the impression that examples of my work had to use their paperlines. I have made cards with there wonderful papers, but sadly enough gave them away during the holidays! Boo for me! :O(

I went on today to their site and found out that they would love to see everyone's designs using their product but that it isn't a requirement. They just want to see your best work regardless of what product you use. So this is the last day and I am biting the bullet here. So I am gonna try for this call and hopefully they will love my work. I love to make cards and scrapbook layouts as well. So here are some samples of my work which I feel best reflects my style. I have always loved their paper and embellishments. To work with a company who rewards their team with amazing product and the opportunity to have their work used during CHA would be an honour.

Some Of My Favorites Layouts & Cards

Thanks for looking at these favorites of mine. Hoping that I have brought some inspiration to some of you today. Trusting that you are enjoying your summer and being safe.

Vintage RAK Winners!

The time is here to announce the Vintage RAK Winners! I had 3 RAKS to give away, the first two being Vintage, and the other just a small RAK of scrapbooking supplies. The first name is Dorcas who made this FAB card. Check out her blog here! This card is beautiful! Be sure to check out her blog to see more of her amazing creations.

Dorcas card with the muted coloures and aged/scripted paper makes a wonderful Vintage Card! Vintage can be done many ways, and I love how this is done with a country feel. Thanks Dorcas! Enjoy your prize. Please connect me so I can get your things out to you!

The second name drawn was Happy a sweet lady from the LCOM community! She was hesitate about making a card because she didn't make one before, but she so wanted to give this a try. I am not sure why she felt this way because her card was beautiful as well. Here is her card.

To check out more of her work just pop over to LCOM and go the the gallery! You did a great job sweetie. Can't wait to see what else you create.

Last name drawn for some goodies was Barb. One of the gals from my Flickr Group. Please be in touch with your addy to recieve your RAK. Thanks to all who participated and became followers. I wish I could draw everyone's name but that wouldn't be a draw would it! Lol! This was a lot of fun and I will be doing this again! Keep checking back for more give aways and hopefully, inspiration.

Don't forget the Party going on over at LCOM. Still lots of fun going on over there!

Just wanted to share that we took in our newphew's wedding yesterday! It was beautiful and I wanted to remind all of you married folks to think back to a special memory of your wedding day. Now that you have thought about it, why not share it with your love and remember it together. Better still why not try to relive that memory again. Not the event, but the feeling!

Yesterday reminded us of our special day and we have decided to do something special for our anniversary in July. We can become so busy that we sometimes over look the small things that mean so much. Holding hands, or just a gentle touch to the back/shoulder or an unexpected kiss. When God made us, He did so knowing the action of touch could sooth the soul, filling it with love, or could harm and destroy it. I want to provide the first feeling and want to provide the same to others, especially my hubby. So I encourage you to relive a great memory to help bring more joy to your life today!

I wanted to show you another Vintage Card that I made a long time ago using dryer sheets. I love how this turned out. Why don't you see what you can use from around your house. You will be surprised bye what you might find. So here is the card I made using Martha Stewart Punch and Ranger Distress Inks. You can find them in the LCOM Store here! Be sure to check out the tools section to see the Punches that are for sale as well!

Here is a side view of the Curly Q's I made to embellish the flower. You just wrap floss around a pencil and spray with hair spray! Once dry, remove and add to any card or page! Volia another great handmade embellishment.

There is more fun along the way over at Monique's blog. Make sure you check it out to see her amazing creations in honor of the LCOM Birthday Bash. Thanks for dropping bye. Look forward to seeing you again. Be sure to check in at the Party for fun, challenges, and prizes. See you there!

Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine

You can probabley remember my telling you about my layout being published in this magazine! Well, it is my first time and I am so excited to share it with you. Today is the actual day for this Summer issue, but some stores had it on their shelves early! So for my American friend Alex and others, here is a pic of my entry!

My hubby use to play on our church league and this game ended with a Win! Go Kingsway! Here is the actual layout and a much better picture! Lol! It is funny because I did this a long time ago! This layout was so fun to do and I had so much fun taking these pics.

Just wanted to share a tip that I use often. Whenever there is a problem with not knowing how much to embellish, the "Power of Three" is my rule of thumb. Using odd numbers makes for a better grouping than even numbers. Also when using word embellishments to journal, mixing it up with large and small prints or small fonts makes for a more interesting layout! Give it a try the next time your undecided about how much to add to your page!

I didn't dream that this layout would be choosen, due to products being out dated! (which doesn't bother me really! Lol!) But so happy that it did get picked up! Just goes to show that you don't always know what they expect! So always submit! You might get a surprise just like I did!

Just wanted to put another plug in about the Vintage Card Challenge and Give Away! You still have loads of time to make a card and link it here! Would sure love to see some of your creations. Remember, I never made one before, and if I can do it, so can you! If you have joined as a follower, or if you were one before I posted about this RAK and want to get in on this, please leave a comment saying so. Also, if you shared this on your blog please let me know as well. Thank you so much!

Hope that everyone had a great weekend and that this week is starting off great.

Make sure to check back on Sunday to see who the winner will be for the Vintage Giveaway!

Hugs & Blessings
