Happy Labor Day & Big News

BLOG CANDY GIVE-AWAY HERE!

Hi Everyone! How are you all doing? I hope this post finds you well relaxed, with lots of great summer memories. Well I had a much needed long break. It was a great one with lots of fun. Visiting family, and seeing some friends that we haven't spent time with in 11 years was the high light of our trip.  Yes, we had lots of camp fire nights and the weather was amazing.

Now that the fun is winding down, and school starting in a few days, it is back to regular routine and paper crafting. I do have some great news to share with you.

I am now a Design Team member of Clear Dollar Stamps. I have known about these stamps for a long time and love their digital images. I am not sure if you remember, but this card was made with their Easter Digital set and I just love it. The stamps at CDS are wholesome & encouraging and that is why I fell in love with them. So when I was asked to be on the team I felt honored to say the lease. So today I am sharing a card that I made especially for today in honor of Labor Day Weekend.

This card was made using the "Grillin & Chillin" Digital set by Deedee Anderson for Clear Dollar Stamps.  The image was resized to make one life size burger and coloured with several different mediums. The buns were coloured with STAEDTLER Watercolour pencils, highlights were added using white STAEDTLER Watercolour Crayons, and the rest of the fixings were coloured using Bienfang Watercolour Markers. To add an extra touch of whimsie, I added the sentiment with a toothpick and inked around the banner with Ranger Distress ink.

Here is a close-up of the colouring with shading & highlights.

This card is being submitted to the

challenge over at Simon Says Stamps for

The line work was done with a fine tip black Sharpie pen. Once the card was completed, another copy was printed off to make a template to trace for a card base. A sheet of black cardstock was folded in half, making sure to crease it well with a bone folder. The template of the hamburger shape was then placed over top of folded black cardstock and close to the fold line to trace out the shape. It is important to remember, that when cutting out the cardbase to not cut on the folded line. This will give you the desired shape card with both a front & back that are attached. Hopefully you get what I mean! So there you have it. A life size hamburger card! My son said it looked good enough to eat! Lol. So happy that he said this, because that was the effect I was going for! Lol

Looking forward to sharing more Clear Dollar Stamp post with you. Be sure to check out their blog because they have blog hops often with chances to win some amazing digital stamps.

Thanks for dropping by and I trust that your Labor Day weekend is a great one!

Blessings
Dana
