Clearly Inspired Challenge

Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to share that the new challenge for Clearly Inspired Challenge sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps is now up. Check out Challenge # 61 and play along. The challenge is to make a card mostly focused on a sentiment. This is what I came up with for this challenge.

I love the Digital Stamps that Lisa Lara designs and these little guys really are adorable. To make them stand out, I printed images out twice and then coloured only the eyes of the second set of images. This second set had the eye portion and beak cut out. It was then added to the orginal panel with pop dots to make the eyes pop from the bird and to give more dimension. You can see this in the pictures below.

This card is being submitted to the following challenges.
Clearly Inspired Challenge: Challenge 61
Little Miss Muffet Challenge: One Layer or CASE

These close-ups can also reveal the shading beneath each layer of feathers on the birds and also around the eyes themselves. You can also see the high lighting on each eyelid area of the the first bird and on the feathers of the second bird.

Card Supplies
Cardstock: White/Recollections
Distress Inks: Storm Sky/Ranger
Digital Stamps: Hoot Hoots Clear Dollar Stamps
Colouring Mediums: Staedtler Watercolour Pencils, TriPlus Markers, & Crayons, Tom Bow Markers, & Sharpie Journaling Pen
Adhesives: ATG Gun, Pop Dots

This is the great set that Lisa Lara created just for this challenge at a great price of $3.00 and you can purchase yours here.  Check out the the Clearly iStamp blog to see the great creations from the design team.

So happy that you dropped by and look forward to seeing you again real soon.
Big Hugs
Dana

This really made me smile BIG:) :). I love how the owls are kinda peeking' into the card! And your coloring is AMAZING!! The way you layered the eyes is a clever idea and one I'm going to remember!

Awww your little multicolored owls are just precious. I've really started liking the little hoots lately. LOL Wanted to pop in and thank you for the VERY lovely comment you left on my blog today. I can only hope to achieve the amazing talent of a Kim Teasdale one day. She's uber talented. :-) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

heehee did you not get it to Jerusha on time? I love this!! I wish it was on the front page for EVERYONE to see. Your coloring is always amazing. I'm not an artist so don't think my coloring will ever be that good as I just don't get it all the art stuff to it. But that is okay I love cutting stuff out and lots of people don't like to do that! So we all have are "thing"!
